Love For Free Cerveza



I stayed at Free Cerveza for a week, & could have stayed forever! The hostel is right on the lake facing volcanoes in quaint Santa Cruz. You can spend the day sippin’ on a drink, swimming & relaxing on the dock, and/or enjoying one of the activities included for guests (yoga, sunrise hike, SUP, kayak, etc). Staff was super helpful & really friendly. I stayed in one of the brand new tents they have and had a 5-star sleep! Oh, and hot showers. The food is delicious. Can’t wait to be back already!!

Amazing view, Free Paddle Boards to explore the lake, very friendly stand, lots of activities, eco toilets, hot showers, next to the ferry… keep it like this.

By far one of my favorite hostels in Guatemala. Yoga and sunrise hikes included in the stay. And free use of SUPs and kayaks during the day – get out there early as the wind can pick up in the afternoon. Showers are hot and food is delicious. Spend your days relaxing on the docks or take a boat to visit the surrounding villages. Thanks for a great stay!

GO HERE!! Better yet inquire about their volunteer program which lets you stay for free + free meals! It’s definitely on my bucket list of jobs over the summer!!! Best vibes, best people, young adult atmosphere… just wow. And the views?!? Incredible. Such a loving staff and I highly recommend splurging on the bungalows, they’re so cute and airy. Minimal bug bites maybe like 3. About getting there, don’t even stress there are so many water taxis for cheap and to go to other parts of the lake too!

Honestly my favorite hostel I have ever stayed at. I loved it SO much I didn’t leave the property for the first 4 days. If you’re looking for a place with the perfect view, temperature, swimming, food and good people, this is the place for you! I truly enjoyed the atmosphere. Family dinners and free beer with plenty of drinking games to make them go down faster made it an excellent place to meet so many wonderful people. I will be back! Thank you Free Cerveza 🙂
