How can I pre-pay for my accommodation?
Before your stay, you will receive a Tab payment link emailed to you from [email protected]. Make sure to check your spam or junk folders. Click the link to complete the payment for your reservation.
Do you accept USD?
We highly recommend bringing enough Quetzales to pay for your consumption at Free Cerveza. However, in instances where you don’t have enough – we do accept USD at a 1.00 USD = 7.00 GTQ exchange rate. Please be aware that we ONLY accept bills that are $20 or higher (no $1, $5, or $10 bills) and they must be in perfect condition (no rips or other surface issues).
If my friends and I book a shared tent, will we be in the same room?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that parties will be placed in the same shared tent, and/or you may need to move tents throughout your stay.

Do you accept card on-site?
We’re a cash-only facility, so make sure to bring some cash with you! If you’ve booked your stay online, your accommodation is already covered by card. For any food, drinks, or extras during your stay, cash will be needed. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to having you with us!
Is there a boat that goes directly to the Free Cerveza dock?
While there isn’t a direct boat service to Free Cerveza, boats heading to Santa Cruz will happily stop at our dock. Just let the boat driver know that Free Cerveza is your destination. If you prefer a private boat, they can bring you directly to the hostel, but please note this will come at a higher cost.
Where is the closest ATM?
The nearest ATM is located in Santa Cruz town at CECAP. You can either walk up the hill or take a tuc-tuc to get there. However, we recommend withdrawing cash in a larger town like Panajachel before you arrive. The CECAP ATM is the only one in town and can sometimes be out of service.
