In order to maintain our summer camp vibe, all guests must be older than 18 years of age. Please note that guests below the age of 18 are not allowed on the premises. 

We only accept reservations through our website and Hostelworld. You must pay a deposit for the full amount of your reservation at least 10 days prior to your stay.

Please note that we have a 3-day cancellation policy.

You will receive a full refund if your booking is canceled at least 72 hours or more prior to the check-in time on the day of your arrival (14:00/2 PM).

If you do not let us know at least 3 days in advance, this will result in no refund for your deposit.

The check-in times & policies for Free Cerveza are as follows:

Check-In: from 14:00 onwards

Check-Out: by 11:00 AM

If you arrive before our check-in time, you are more than welcome to use our facilities (kayaks, paddleboards, sauna, etc.) upon arrival. If you would like to stay with us another night, please try to let us know the day before.

Please note: You are required to show legal identification at check-in. We accept DPI and International Passports.

When you check-in, you are required to present a form of identification  (An International Passport or a DPI) and confirmation of your deposit or payment for your accommodation.

We work with a tab system for all of our guests. Your tab will be listed under your full name and all food & drink consumed during your stay will be added to this account. You will be responsible for paying this in full when checking out.

Please note that we are a cash-only facility and do not accept credit cards as a form of payment. There are also no ATMs available in Santa Cruz so please plan accordingly.

We accept both Guatemalan Quetzales and US Dollars (at our exchange rate).

DO NOT USE WAZE OR GOOGLE MAPS TO GET TO FREE CERVEZA IN SANTA CRUZ. THERE IS NO ROAD ACCESS TO FREE CERVEZA AND YOUR CAR WILL GET STUCK AND NEED TO BE TOWED.

If you’re driving you can park your car safely overnight at a secure parking lot right next to the public dock (Muelle Tzanjuyu).

The schedule of the public lanchas currently runs until 7 PM and costs about Q15 per person from Panajachel to Free Cerveza in Santa Cruz. It’s important to have the exact change ready. You can always send us a message via WhatsApp to check the current lancha schedule or have us coordinate a private lancha for you.

Please be aware that our quiet hours are from 10 pm until 7 am, daily. We ask that you be respectful of other guests and our neighbors and keep the noise to a minimum during this timeframe.

Free Cerveza is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please keep track of your belongings, and feel free to utilize our lockers for added security.
