Not ready to leave Lake Atitlán? Perfect. We’re always looking for creative, outgoing travelers to join the Free Cerveza volunteer crew.

Volunteers help set the vibe – hosting activities, pouring drinks, sharing travel tips, and making guests feel at home. If you’re fun-loving and looking for the perfect place to rest your backpack for a while, come add your spark to our slice of paradise.

What we’re looking for

We care less about résumés and more about personality.

Language skills

fluent in English and comfortable with a little Spanish (or are willing to learn).

you make it easy for guests to connect and know the energy you bring sets the tone.

Adventurous & adaptable

life on the lake can be a little rustic; you adapt quickly and embrace it with a smile.

Time commitment

A minimum of 4 weeks to settle in, connect, and make the most of the experience.

What do you do?

The volunteer role

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Free Cerveza. You’ll work five 6-hour shifts each week, helping with guest services, bar shifts, mealtimes, and cleanup.

Beyond that, you’ll be leading the fun – trivia nights, sunrise SUP, karaoke, cooking classes, hikes, or whatever creative spark you bring to the table. More than anything, your role is about connecting with guests, keeping the vibe alive, and making sure everyone feels welcome.
