Why Should You Visit

Simoneta Mixology Cantina?

There is nowhere else quite like Simoneta on Lake Atitlán. This Panajachel institution has been shaking up cocktails for over 9 years, and the reputation is well earned. Regulars keep coming back, first-timers can't stop talking about it, and honestly it's not hard to see why.

For starters, there's no menu. You tell the bartender what flavours you're into and they take it from there, building something completely unique to you using fresh market produce, craft syrups, and local seasonal fruits like jocote and passion fruit. The drinks come served in converted liquor bottles, and the presentation is half the fun. Smoked glasses, dehydrated fruit, and a bartender who clearly loves what they do and wants you to know exactly what went into your glass.

The setting is just as fun. Simoneta is up on the second floor above the corner of Calle Santander and Calle Principal, right in the thick of Panajachel's nightlife. The music is great, the walls are covered in graffiti you can add to yourself, and the whole place has an energy that's hard to find anywhere else on the lake.

If you're only having one cocktail in Panajachel, make it here.
