Why Should You Visit
Taquero MUCHO?
Taquero Mucho is the kind of place backpackers stumble onto and keep coming back to. This small family-run taqueria sits just off the tourist trail near the Jucanya bridge, away from the bustle of Calle Santander, and it's worth every step of the detour.
The menu is simple: tacos, gringas, quesadillas, and burritos, all cooked fresh in front of you. The portions are generous, the salsas are good, and there are vegetarian options too.
Not sure what to order? Start with the nachos mixtos, then go for the birria tacos — cheesy, saucy, and exactly what you want after a long day on the lake. If you're hungry, the signature taquero plate is the move: four corn tortillas packed with meat and covered in a layer of melted cheese. You'll leave stuffed, but still craving more.
